This Level 3 Foundation diploma in health and social caree is a 60-credit qualification (equivalent to one A level). The objective of the OTHM Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Health and Social Care is to equip learners with the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills required for a career in the health and social care sector at a support worker, senior support worker or care assistant level.
The OTHM Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Health and Social Care consists of 6 Modules and Assignments for a combined total of 60 credits and 120 Guided Learning Hours for the completed qualification.
While completing the Level 3 online Diploma in Health and Social Care, students can access various study resources, such as tutor support and webinars, a social learning forum, and additional materials to complete their graduate business course.
Upon completion of this Health and Social Care online course, students receive an OTHM Level 3 foundation Diploma in Health and Social Care which is fully regulated by Ofqual. Students will then have the opportunity to apply for admission onto a full undergraduate degree programme from a range of UK universities.
Alternatively, students can opt to study our Level 4/5 Diploma in Health and Social Care and then complete an undergraduate top-up at a range of UK universities.

To complete the course you’ll submit 6 online assignments at each level, and assignments are approximately 2,000-3,000 words each. Once you’ve passed your course, you’ll be awarded with an OTHM Foundation Diploma and you’ll be able to progress to a bachelor’s degree at a range of UK universities.

This unit aims to help learners understand personal development and reflective practice in health and social care roles. It highlights the importance of ongoing learning and reflection to maintain skills and improve performance.
Effective Communication and Ethical Practice in Health and Social Care (10 credits)
This unit explores the importance of communication in health and social care, focusing on meeting individual needs and preferences. It also covers good practice in equality, diversity, and rights within these settings.
Health, Safety and Wellbeing in Health and Social Care Settings (10 credits)
This unit equips learners with the knowledge and skills to promote health and safety in the workplace and addresses safeguarding, including identifying types of abuse and their signs.
Person-centred Approaches in Health and Social Care Settings (10 credits)
This unit helps learners understand how to implement and promote person-centred approaches, focusing on the individual and their abilities rather than their condition or disability.
Effective Handling of Information in Health and Social Care Settings (10 credits)
This unit covers confidentiality and ethical practices in managing information, focusing on good practice in recording, sharing, storing, and accessing data.
