5. What are your plans now?

I am now considering applying for Mental Health Nursing, and I feel that my current role within the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team has prepared me incredibly well for this journey.

Working as a senior community support worker at Langley Green Hospital has given me hands‑on experience with patient assessments, risk management, care planning, crisis intervention, and independent community visits, all of which are key elements of mental health nursing.

I’ve also previously explored nursing pathways with several universities, including enquiries and applications for BSc and MSc Mental Health Nursing. Those experiences have helped me understand the entry routes available and identify the path that aligns best with my long‑term goals. The combination of my frontline mental health experience and my academic progress in health and social care has strengthened my confidence that I’m ready to take the next step.

Everything I’ve learnt so far — from crisis management to therapeutic engagement — feels directly transferable to a mental health nursing degree and future clinical practice.
