How do top up degrees work?
Rima successfully completed the Level 7 Extended Diploma in Strategic Management in January 2018. Read what she has to say about her experience with Online Business School.
Why did you choose to study with Online Business School?
I was looking for an opportunity for flexible learning which was also affordable at the same time. I wanted to earn a Level 7 Diploma to further my qualifications and improve my career prospects, OBS was the ideal option for me as they offer university level postgraduate top-up routes. Studying a university pathway programme is a quick and affordable route to a master’s degree.
How would you describe your experience of studying with Online Business School?
The modules were very comprehensive, and a wide list of resources was provided. After completing the modules and the relevant multiple-choice tests, I started working on my written assignments. The entire study mode was online, at my own pace, which was ideal. I had to resubmit some assignments, but the feedback and support was great and meant that they met the ATHE standards and that all learning outcomes were fully achieved. My personal tutor was also extremely helpful, courteous and supportive. I was able to contact him via email and Skype for support when needed.
What did you like the most about the course with Online Business School?
That it was totally online, flexible and self-paced, and at the same time affordable. I was extremely pleased with the level of support provided.
Do you have any advice for current or prospective students?
I would advise them that online studying needs a lot of commitment and perseverance. They need to set aside a certain number of hours every week for that purpose and set their own personal goals and deadlines.
What are your plans now?
At some point in the near future I would love to continue with higher education and top up my diploma to a master’s degree. I have been offered support regarding that and presented with university information for progression routes by OBS.
