Final Assignments

Acting as a bridge between the successful completion of the Undergraduate or Postgraduate modules and  online assessments, learners have the opportunity to complete a series of work based Assignments validated to advance onto the final year of an affordable full BA Honours Degree on completion of level 4 and level 5, or final stage of an MBA on completion of the level 7 pathway.

The Assignments can be work based or College based but must relate to a live situation and be capable of displaying knowledge and understanding of all the learning outcomes within the programme. The assignment together with guidelines will be issued prior to embarking on this stage. The assignments will be delivered electronically to the student and must be submitted for marking electronically.

The Assignments pull together the knowledge gained from course modules, giving learners the opportunity to complete work based experience in the core subjects required to advance into the final year of a university award and on to a professional career in the commercial sector.

Each applicant can apply for their ASG pack after completing and passing all MCA’s on their programmes. Students must nominate a Mentor for their Assignments and also provide a current CV. A Mentor can be an applicant’s direct manager at work or a senior company official or it may be an academic head of reasonable standing. The Mentor will be expected to guide and counsel a learner through the Assignments where appropriate and is expected to sign off the piece of work on competition as representing the learners own work and representing the learners. OBS and ATHE reserve the right to contact and liaise with the Mentor during the course of the Assignments or on completion and the Mentor must agree to such contact.

The Assignments marking scheme will focus on evidence that the learning outcomes set within each of the modules have been met in terms of knowledge and understanding. Marking will examine how the student has undertaken any research required, if the conclusions and recommendations have validity, the structure and cohesion of the Assignments and general presentation and coherence.

On completion, learners may be subjected to a final remote viva voce with their Mentors to confirm any unclear aspects of their work. Students will graduate with a QAA approved Postgraduate or a Undergraduate Diploma, recognised by the UK university sector and by OFQUAL, the Governments Higher Education Standards body
